My opinion would me if it holds up in a B2 than it will hold up with the 4.0 because your still giving that bell housing all the support it was designed to take by using all six holes it came with.
I personally have not done this kind of swap, but if the insides of that tranny are the same it will get you where you need to go. You don't have very many options because of funding. Just go easy on it when you get it all installed.
Well thanks dano , Was about to load some pics of the two Side by side , but my Usb ports on my laptop just stopped responding and picking up my camera or my usb mouse , Still need to figure out the linkage issue , Maybe I can find a floor shifter with PRNDd21 !
I have been without those 2 bolts for almost a year, the threads came out with the bolts. I have had no issues without them, and i abuse the crap out of my explorer
Thanks for the info Rickybobby , I think I'm going to try and bolt it up and see what happens , I would like to get a Auto Floor Shifter to Install Since the Shift Linkage is different between the two trans
On my 86 ranger (should be an exact match for your new trans) i was able to remove the entire linkage to replace the seal on the input shaft. I got it down to just a stud and shaft sticking out of the case. The old trans should be the same way, so the only potential problem i see if im right is if the angle on the linkage is wrong
I Want to Avoid any and all Removal of parts from this trans , I drained and cleaned the pan , was kind of dirty , but Mine was allot worse , I would rather do whats easiest , I tried to take the Linkages apart and swap them , But the Actual linkage Does not remove Like the Kick down Linkage
Well I went to Pull a Part South Atlanta , And found that All 3 Bronco II's had 5 Speeds in them , So No luck on a Auto floor Shifter , Found a Trans Fluid cooler with a Line and clamps, Grabbed a Handful of fuses and bulbs , Walked out for only $15 ! , Will be going back with more time and money and Will get More random stuff !!
Now it looks Like I will be Changing the Linkages between the 2 Trans That I have to Make the BII Trans Work , Wish Me luck all !
Thanks man , Not really looking forward to doing the Linkage change but It has to be Done ! , I bought 2 Gals of fluid , still need to buy the filter and pan gasket , but might go get that tomorrow
I have flushed all but the 2 main lines from trans to coolers , I flushed the Radiator cooler , stock front cooler , and will be doing both lines before the trans goes in , The second cooler I bought is flushed as well now
Two coolers in series? That's what I decided on, that and an external filter. The inlet and outlet nipples have to be either pointing down or to the side on the coolers. If you mount it so they are pointing upwards you could have an airlock situation. So I have read anyway.
Yes 2 Coolers in Series , I have yet to find a Local place to buy the External filter , But I do plan On finding one ! , The fluid coolers are going to be beside each other behind the Grille area , where the Stock 1 Cooler is originally located , I Wanted to get a Temp gauge for it as well as a Drain Plug , But have been low on funds and need to Sale some stuff locally
