well after a good long sit down the other night i decided it was time to trade in the ex, after all the suspension crap i went through i didnt want to deal with it anymore. i went down to the local ford dealership the other night and started looking around and found something that caught my eye, ofcourse the very next night i had the stock rims on,both hid kits out, system out, and a couple other little things ripped out and called my brother-in-law to meet me at the dealership with his ford id # to sit down and start the paperwork..blue book on my 2002 ex 4dr 4.0L was 10k but since the tranny was slipping (very badly) and rear suspension was flipped up i got $8900, i prolly could of got more if i went through private owner but i was like what the hell i want my new truck. New vehicle....... 2003 Ford SVT lightning, 35k miles, charcoal gray, very clean and well kept, bone stock except for upper/lower billet grilles, STEEDA intake, and LED 3rd brake, total cost=$17,599. One hour later i was driving home and spanked some dude that wanted to go ina slammed silverado, i cant tell you how good that felt. The ex was fun to drive but this thing is just a BLAST. Also its been good posting on this forum, always found the questions i was looking for, thanks fellas. Heres a couple pics of the ex and some of my new baby...

wow ok, pics arent working ill try to get em up later

What did you do with your rims? Its funny, I sold my 2003 charcoal grey lightning and went with a limited explorer (family thing) Be careful with modifications, you can blow your engine very easy with the wrong mods. I had mine running low 12"s in the 1/4 mile. A good tune, CAI and a 4 lb lower addtional boost pully and traction bars will easily get you into the 12's. Have fun a let me know if your rims are availabe.

jesus, finally got em up, bro if your interested in those wheels at all send me a pm, also i ggot 2 12'' L7 solobarics, dual ported box, kicker 1250.1 2 channel, and 2 farad cap....$450.....shipping would be killer so if anyone is close come by and take a look at it.....

if you'll split it up, how much for the cap?
I got one 15" L7, so I know those two have got to slam

im gonna wait and see if i can get rid of everything first, if not then you'll be hearing from me about the cap....

What all suspension crap did you have?

What all suspension crap did you have?

well to start off with when i tried to swap in the BT springs i took the shock apart and without a high impact air gun i couldnt get the bolt tight enough with the new spring in place, it would go bout half way down and the whole shaft would start spinning so i sat there with vice grips trying to hold while my bro uses the gun but no go, not sure if its just too short of a spring or what but everytime i hit a decent sized bump in the road the spring would move around and make a loud sound. next when i had the GF springs in, the camber adjusters were already maxed out, then when i swappped in the BT ones, which is almost an inch lower, it threw my camber totally off, when i took it to ford i paid 50 bucks for the guy to tell me that the adjusters were maxed out and that it was still about 2.75 degrees off in the back. i also had an aftermarket adjuster on it but i think it was only + - like .50 degree, i got so tired of irs, its limited when you want to mod, only a couple inches up and down and its done, period. i'll get some pics up of my back tires. within less than a month, (i know i should have took care of it but more important things came up) my back tires from the middle in were completley bald and had MAJOR wire showing.....pics soon

nice lightning, the explorer was nice too.....what size wheels are those? Just out of curiousity what are you looking to get for them?

wheels are boss motorsports 20x8.5, +35mm offset, 5x4.5 lug......275/45 goodyear eagle gt2's
