My tires and wheels(also, cd player, CB radio and antenna, Sub, amp) were stolen off Nimby in the last day or two from a locked fenced barbed wire place in Woodinville called Del's truck rentals where my husband's dad pays for a rental spot to keep vehicles(supposedly safely).
They are 37/12.5R15 Goodyear MT/R's on black steel wheels, almost brand new.
I'm devastated. Please keep an eye out and let me know if you see anything.
I've already filed a police report but there isn't much they can do at this point.

Sorry to hear that. :( Watch your local craigslist. Most tweekers that steel stuff like that typically try to move it through CL.

Oh no, so sorry to hear this, all that together had to be like $2,000 new.

I agree though, keep any eye on Craigslist/ebay, and around town. I hope you catch them, I know there would be hell to pay if I were you and caught them.

Damn!

That really sucks Katie. Sorry to hear it.

I suppose it was a park at your own risk place with no contract huh?

Not totally. Ryan's dad has been renting a spot there for 15 years, paying a lot of money. The police officer who took the report is pretty darn sure the guy will have some kind of liability and also thinks it was an employee who stole it all. We'll see. The whole thing makes me sick.

A few tips for you, most tires have a mfg date on the sidewall so if you can remember when you bought them it may help track them down if you see them for sale. Also, post this on Pirate4x4, they have a big section for stolen stuff and get a ton of exposure. Also, I'd talk to a few local tire shops. In my opinion, most guys running 37s aren't doing it on 5x4.5 wheels so there is a good chance that they would get seperated.

Do you have insurance? Honestly, most storage places have signs posted stating they are not responsible for lost/stolen items and you need to keep insurance on it.

I bought the tires off craigslist and don't know the mfg number.
I'll have my husband post it on pirate though, good idea.

And no, I do not have insurance on my vehicle as it's being stored. There is no sign at the place saying they wont be held responsible. My father in law has been renting from them for 15 years, and it's now 250 a month for the spot. Not once has he been told he needs to keep ins. on his vehicles. The owner is contacting his insurance to see what they can do.

Check out eBay too- I had a brand new compound bow stolen out of my truck a few years back. The idiot posted it on eBay less than 4 hours later. With all of the fixin's in the case and on the bow, the value was well over $1,000- Felony in Michigan. He's still in jail, it was his 3rd strike. Oops! ;)

That royally sucks though- it's a total violation when you have stuff stolen like that- I hope you find your goods!

throw up a bait ad on craigslist too. Say something like "I need 35-38" mud tires for a Jeep" you might get your sucker. I always think that people steal stuff and run it on their own truck and maybe sell what they had so it would make it harder to trace the items if they aren't for sale.

So if you see other tires/wheels for sale on Craigslist maybe swing by and have a look around. IF you do see the stolen goods, maybe try to take a photo with your camera and contact the local authorities because it could be a problem if you took law into your own hands.

We were thinking about doing something like that.
The officer told us that "he's not saying it's a good idea" but if we see them on CL and go positively identify them, we can call the cops and they'll come check it out. The officer who took the report was great, it was really refreshing dealing with a police guy who actually cared about my situation.

Make sure you tell him that when you get a chance ;)

Dang Katie, That sucks bad. I hope they find the jerks and let you run them over after you put the tires back on the Nimby.
