Yes, my tranny went today. Yesterday it was working perfectly, today it started letting go. I was able to limp to my mechanic's shop though, so avoided towing costs.
I'm gonna stick with the 4R55E, but what options do I have? We looked around and only saw the Transgo kit, not one from TCI or B&M. But basically any part my mechanic can tweak or replace to make it better, he is. He's gonna machine the clutches to fit more and stuff like that. And the torque converter is gonna be a new replacement unit, though he's gonna investigate about stall speeds.
I was expecting it to go sometime between 60 and 80k, I have almost 64k on the odo. My mechanic honestly said that it wasn't my power or driving that caused it, they're just crappy. Also is the fact that it didn't grenade on the track, but during everyday driving.
Well thats it, and I'm depressed
Oh well. ok89, sorry you wont get to see my truck this weekend. But on the bright side my mech said it's most likely gonna take less than a week.
