Ok, I haven't had my truck for very long, just a few days, but I have been trying to come up with things I want to do to it to make it look better. Personally I wouldn't have it if my girlfriend didn't want it, but hey, with a little customization it could turn out to be a pretty decent looking truck I think. Ok, I haven't been in the truck scene for very long (since I got my truck), so I don't really know any good sources or places to look to find the stuff I'm looking for, so thats where you guys come in. Maybe you can help me or direct me to some web sites that can help. Ok first off, its a 2002 Ford explorer sport trac, 4x4. Here are a few things I want to do to it. I want to put some 22s on it and drop it a few inches. I don't want to bag it, but I do want it to sit down on the wheels pretty good. So first of all I need to know where too look for a lowering kit. Will the 4x4 make lowering it harder? Oh and I know that dropping a 4x4 is kind of a waste, but I'm never going to use it, and I'm not much into the lifted truck scene. Ok anyways, next, does it have the same front clip as the explorers? I want to get an aggressive front bumper cover for it, but I can't seem to find one, but if I find one for the explorer will it work? So I guess, second, I need to find a web site that I can find body kits for it. And now for my last question. Will it convert to the Lincoln Aviator front end pretty easily? I'm not sure if it will, but that was just an idea I had. Any help that anyone can give me would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the board!

The Aviator front end would be a ton of work, it would have to be sectioned down to the width of the Sport Trac. Here's a guy with a Ranger who's fabricating one:

His SSM page:

The Sport Trac front end is the same as the '01+ Explorer Sport (2-Door), but will be different from all the others. Not sure of any body kits, but notice how the grill is one-piece with the bumper.

A few guys on here have lowered 4x4's down a bit, they can better answer your lowering question then I could.

ive seen that ranger before on street source but if im not mistaken that truck got or is in the process of being parted out...an aviator clip wouldnt be that be bad to do once you section it down a lil...but its def not a bolt on swap for that year sport trac...

mySRT4,

Just some friendly advice. Break your post down into paragraphs. It makes it much easier to read. You will find that you get a lot more replies that way.

Alot of us (and I for one will) will not even read post like yours becuase it is difficult to read.

Where'd you hear that it was getting parted out?!?! I was hoping to see that one finished, looked like a sweet project.

i cant prove that that is the exact truck i saw on street source but i know there was a blue ranger on street source that had an aviator clip that wasnt done yet, and he was parting it out...that doesnt mean that picture isnt of a different one..but i dont know to many rangers with aviator clips...

yeah i checked out the streetsource link becuase i didn't notice it before-lol and that is def the ranger i would have sworn that guy posted he was parting out..beacause it was on that post that said he was parting it out was the first time i ever saw it-lol

that sucks, I wonder if how many separate parts it was sold into if anyone was going to pick up the project again.

that would be kool to find out...or hopefully im wrong and he decided not to part it out...because that would be a hot front end swap and truck when all said and done

I have seen the progress pics of the EX sport with the aviator front end but not the Ranger.
