When I tried bolting my tranny back onto the engine this morning I forgot to make sure that the 02 sensor plugs were clear of the bell housing, and ended up smashing one. It would probably be okay as is, but I would rather replace it just to be sure. I don't want to fork out the $ for a new harness from the dealer, is it going to be any problem to simply cut off the old ones and replace them with another 4-wire connector?

no problem, although its a PITA to get back in there.
Your best bet is to pull the harness out of the truck or at least out from under the upper plenum to gain access to the 02 wires..........

Been there, done that!
Also make sure they clear the exhaust manifolds....melt

I can use any four wire connector, right?

WELL OBVIOUSLY not any 4 wire connector, I mean you want one that is semi water and dirt proof and deifnatley heat proof, but yes for the most part.........

Well, you know what I meant...I hope!:o Just wanted to make sure there wasn't some special something "else" about these connectors. Thanks.

Boy, do I ever miss Colorado!

Scott, you probably are planning to anyway, but I highly recommend soldering the wire splices.
