My 95 appears to engage the front driveline intermittently when in 2wd. I hear a thunking sound and front drive shaft speeds up. I pulled apart the front axle lock (not a hub) and this operated fine (vacume piston slides a collar to lock the wheel halfshaft to the front diff output shaft).
The thunking goes away if in 4 auto. I believe that the tc is engaging its clutch while in 2wd.
I then disconnected the connector on the BW 4405 tc but the problem still happened. I had left the rear driveline speed sensor connected.
Anyone have similar problems?
Anyone know how to disable the tc from going into 4wd (assuming pulling the connector alone won't do it)??
