i like the bumper. it looks really good. i like the diamond plate too, but i'm kind of partial to diamond plate considering i've got a big ole skid plate made out of it i think its the design of the diamond plate... the little points on it. other than that i realllllly like it. makes me wish i knew someone with a tube bender round here.
seeing as i'm a week late on this thread(was searching for new bumper ideas), did you paint it yet?
nah, i havent painted it yet. Im going to in the near future at some point, just need to get some paint and get off my ass. Did you mean that you dont like the points? or you did?
i dont really care for the points. i saw the photoshop thread, and i think it will actually look much better painted. looks really good tho. wish my bumper would have turned out with that kind of quality. oh well. i'll just have to make another/better one.
could you show me a picture of how it mounts to the frame? and what do you use for a front tow point?
i use my tow hooks up there for tow points and it is mounted only temporarily for now because im gonna be doing a BL in the very near future and the builder just mounted it easily and temporarily so that its easier to mount for good once the BL is on.
i couldnt see the hooks in the picture, but i figured you had something up there. hmm i want to see what your builder does with the mounts, because the mounting tabs are offset from eachother. i dont know if i want to try and work with those on my next bumper, or cut em off and make a mount that slips over the frame rail.
right now, the bumper is only mounted to my inner frame ears. After i do the BL it will be mounted to the inner frame ears, either the top or bottom of the frame, and maybe even the outer frame ears. I left my frame ears on because i wanted the option of putting my truck back to stock if i want to sell it...everyday that gets further and further from reality Anyways, i will see if i can get some pics of it and i will make sure to get some pics of it when i 1: paint it, 2: finish the mounts, and 3: maybe clean up a few booger welds.
