I am looking into buying an intake system for my 98 4.0 OHV Explorer. I was wondering what are some good recommendations for increase in power or MPG? Also about how much will this upgrade run?
MAC is probably the most cost effective True CAI you can buy for around $140.
K&N and Volant are also options but more expensive and flow about the same.
In my opinion my set up is one of the best, another idea I stole from Celly & Aldive- a Volant intake with an Amsoil Ea big bore filter.
Found it interesting that oiled filters may flow a bit better than paper ones but they do not trap dirt worth a crap and the flow rate is not that much better than a paper filter.
