My name is John and I consider myself a newbie even though I've owned three Explores in the past. My previous Explores were all 2 WD models, 1992 Sport, 1995 Sport and a 2002 XLT. Their uses were as daily drivers with an occasional dirt road thrown in. I'm about to acquire my fourth, which is a 1999 XLT with 4WD and 118k on the clock. This truck has never really been used off road and probably put in 4WD a half a dozen times. So, my plans are to add a couple of inches suspension lift, tires and a few other beginner essentials. Thanks to all of you for the info I have read in your posts.
