I am thinking about ordering these because I think they are less likely to crack then the slotted and drilled rotors. I need something that can stand up to heat and hard use better then "stock" rotors which I always end up getting tiny heat crack in after about 7 or 8 months, and I go through brake pads in about the same time. They dont post a price on the site but I emailed them and they said 217.99 with free shipping for the "diamond slotted"(its the last one on the page in the link http://www.raceshopper.com/sp_rotors.shtml

That website has a lot of interesting rotor designs. I personally would not use any of those. I only trust the Ford, or Wagner rotors. I've used other brands in the past, and never got good results.

Never heard of them. Have you tried power slots? I just put a set on along with good ceramic pads.
I'm not a fan of drilled rotors cause it lessons rotor surface area.

The problem I have with the ford and wagner "stock" rotors is that I am hard on the pedal at times and I need something with more cooling and venting ability. I have heard of power slot but I thought these were an intresting design and was wondering if they might be any good. I believe they cary a 1 yr warranty on them but I cant be sure right now if that was them or another site I was looking at. Also I liked that they were a little less expensive then the power slots I have seen on other sites.

My X is now 2 days out of inspection and I have to keep it parked in my driveway and make someone go with me when I need to go to the store so if they see the 2.5(fake 5.0)lol they can move it before I get a ticket and I know with my brakes in the shape they are it will not pass the inspection. I also dont have a ton of money to spend on it right now as I just booked a cruise for August and funds are now low, but at the same time I dont want to waste the money on regular rotors to just replace them in January. If anyone knows a place where they sell drilled and slotted or really good slotted rotors for a good price let me know, explorerexpress only has them for 95+, Thanks Jon

I know the difference between the diamond grove and the cross drilled, and I know they are prone to cracking but if they last me 2x as long and work better in that time I think it might be worth it, I don't know maybe I will just go with just slotted but why do so many car companys go with the drilled and slotted, like porsche and mercedes, I know the quality is probably a bit better lol but still there has to be someone producing a good quality cross drilled and slotted rotor dont you think?

that link is showing me 133.64 per rotor for the powerslot cryo and 102.19 per rotor for regular powerslots

I have the regular. Once you add them to the cart you get a discount. ALso free shipping.
I ordered mine from these guys.

Thanks for that info, after adding them have you noticed any difference in stopping distance/or feel in the pedal?

I have owned a few different sets of cross drilled and/or slotted rotors.

It doesn't matter if they 'radius' the OUTER edge of the drilled hole, the crack will just start from the center (where the vanes are) of the rotor.

I still buy the cross drilled and/or rotors, as they DO help stop faster, and I have NEVER had a problem with brake fade.

So far they seem great. Only been a few 100 miles though.

Those are just WAY too expensive! I had them on my old X. I didn't see any great difference that would warrant the $400(with shipping) they cost.

Oh, are they that much now? My buddy started the company, and has since sold it so I haven't even paid any attention to that. My car stopped better and they lasted a lot longer than any other rotors I've had. Dead Link Removed

EBC makes excellent brake parts. Unfortunately they raised their prices a couple of years ago. Spotfaced EBC rotors that I bought for $160 a pair now cost about $150 each. Good luck,

yeah I found EBC's on some site, I cant recall which one at this time( I should start using the bookmark) I saw them for like 267.00 + shipping and they looked really nice, the only thing I was unsure about was the radius was 10.9" where as others I have seen are 10.3" would this cause an issue with the calipers?

I'd double check that the application is correct. All 95-01 rotors are 11" in diameter. Either the description you were looking at was wrong, or the part was not an Explorer rotor. Regards,
