2005 Explorer XLT
I have been on this site for a few months now, like the advise, but the tranny on my 2005 Explorer XLT 4.0 has been acting up, i.e. slipping. have about 75k miles.

was told to get a flush...researched it more and found that if the filter isn't changed at the time of the flush all the shavings and dirt will cling to the filter (sounds good) but once new fluid is added, it will dislodge the shavings and dirt from the filter and back into the fluid and cause more harm than good.

Went to the dealership, and was told that I have a leaky pump seal.

not a mechanic but handy enough to research...

Welcome to the forum! I would have to agree with brooklyn on this. Dropping the pan and replacing the filter would be the best and safest option at this time.
