- 2001 Eddie Bauer 5.0
Hello all,
I am a fellow explorer fan, and newb to the site. I currently drive a factory spec 2001 Eddie Bauer 5.0, and drove a 1991 Eddie Bauer for years before this one. I am a fan of the explorers, and don't see myself driving anything else for years to come.
A bit about me, I am a gunsmith by trade, and camper, hunter and fisherman for fun. I have found the explorers have gotten my friends and me everywhere we needed to go to do these things.
What brought me here was the thought that I should be learning from like-minded individuals when it comes to my rig. I figure there is no better place to inquire about the quirks of my explorer than here, and I look forward to learning all that I can on the topic.
With gas prices going higher and higher with no end in sight, I thought that maybe I would be able to increase my mileage a bit by upgrading elements of my explorer. Be it chips, intake, exhaust, or otherwise, I am looking to optimize my setup. If I can gain a little power in the process, and a little healthier purr too, I would be all the more happy. If anybody cares to point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.
I've added a pic of my rig and my lady friend just for good measure...
