Newbie towing question...

My wife and I have towed about 3000 miles with them and they work great. When installed, they are required to have 10lbs in them to keep them inflated at all times to keep the bag firm. Actually, it gave my Limited Edition about 1.5" lift in back, so had to torsion twist the front some to bring the truck back to level. Air-Lifts are a high quality product. Be prepared to take a lot of time if you install them yourself and have a heavy duty drill and bit availalbe to drill through the frame. I had my Ford dealer to install mine. Mike

My Update on cross-country towing

Well, here's my update :

NO PROBLEMS (knocking on wooden desk) so far, towing a loaded 73 Camaro, on a U-Haul dolly. Only thing I found was that I needed to air up the rear tires to MAX to firm up the ride. Got a Hidden Hitch class 3, and used the stock harness I found in the jack compartment (new, still in the bag - wish I had seen it PRIOR to buying a hidden hitch harness for $50 - will be for sale soon as I get back to PA).......anyways.....

Like I said, no problems so far, and I'm hanging out at a friend's place in Georgia. Got 19 MPG average for the trip, and getting over 230+ miles per tank, running on 87. I usually fill up at 1/4 tank for safety reasons.

My rear sags due to the loading of the dolly, and all I wish I had was some helper springs for the rear, OR the airbags.

This is just my recent experience.....and I have 15 more hours of driving tomorrow to finish my route to PA.

Wish me luck ;)
