It starts and runs on the battery. It is chiming 5 times, a low battery indicator or charging chime???

I have checked fuses and wiring. With KOEO I got no power at the "I" terminal. I got battery voltage at the other Alt. terminals. The battery/charge indicator does not light at key on and does not light even though it is not charging. I pulled the instrument cluster and checked the bulb, and it's good. I cleaned the races/contacts on the cluster and swapped over a working bulb to be sure. It still did not light

It appears that circuit is bad. Can I jump 12 volts directly to the "I" terminal to turn-on the Alt? I am thinking that would be a good test to confirm the alt. will work with power applied to the "I" terminal. If that works I don't need an Alt. but to do some wiring, trace and fix that circuit.

Here's a diagram. Post 13 in link below. Are you sure you checked all fuses? Check under hood and interior fuses.
I think there are several instrument cluster related fuses.
frying out the voltage regulator

Thanks

I got it:banghead:

I think I just finally got the battery charged-up enough. I also put in a new bulb for the battery indicator. It lit up with key on and the gauge is reading a good charge.
