new guy here, and got a noob question... the "dog leg"/rocker panel area of my new-tome 94 ex is rotting away on the driver side. can i just cut the whole rocker out, like they did in the link i added, or is this a structual piece that i should just get fixed?

i did the cutting on this ranger, and really like the way it came out. id like to do the same thing to my ex, just dont to do more damage than good.
