2004 Mercury mountaineer
I have a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer .I just exchanged and put in a transmission due to the other one having issues . Ok my man did that.. Now my OD light is constantly blinking and just recently the check engine soon came on and check tranny light ! Also when I go to stop there is a rumble in the tires . And when the tranny first went in it had get up and go ran great . Now it's lagging but still will pick up after a bit and drive .I don't know if my drive shaft would have anything to do with it cause it goes in park and reverse but won't show it on nutral or drive or 3,2 and 1 . Please help .I love this ride thank you April

Need to get it scanned to figure out what the flashing lights mean, there are trouble codes stored and a good scanner can retrieve them. It could be something simple like a bad connection or a failed sensor or it could be something wrong with the internal components or the converter. A AutoZone store may be able to retrieve the transmission codes and they do it at no charge or visit your local transmission shop for hopefully a free diagnosis.

Without knowing what the computer is telling you any repairs at this point would be a guess and that can get expensive.

Post up the codes once you get them and I can help you understand what they could mean.

Thank you I will do that tommorow . I found out what was happening with the rumble in the tires the lug nuts were not tightened ugh. Thank goodness no more damage was done . I will post back when I get the codes. Thanks again

MUST DO Need to pull the codes MUST DO

It could be a very simple fix, like he didn't plug in the wires all the way, have him check his work?
