1999 Explorer XLT 5.0
Good morning all,
I've got a '99 5.0 Explorer with the 4R70W trans. Nothing happens when I depress my OD button. Trans shifts fines otherwise. So far I've taken the dash apart, followed the wires down. There's no cut or pinches. I have 12V to the switch and a good switch but still nothing. Does anyone know the location and maybe color wire where it goes into the PCM? Any other thoughts?

The light could be out in the dash

If the switch is good and power is coming in then you can check the wire to the pcm for sure but first I would check the bulb

It should also be pretty
Obvious if it is cancelling overdrive?

Issue must be between cluster and pcm, it is one wire direct from computer to cluster it goes through a few connectors in its way there
Simple continuity test from pcm to each connector on its way to cluster is where I would start

^ You can get the entire '99 workshop manual with those and more diagrams, here as a PDF:

Certain browsers support viewing it online, but probably better to just download the whole thing.
