Official 2011 Uwharrie Planning Thread

Depending on what I get done by then i may come down with my ex. It's bone stock as of now, and even though I'm pretty good at driving and getting it places it shouldn't be, I'd like to not have to whoop on it too hard driving that far away. I have always wanted to run Uwharrie since I had my Samurai but never got down there. Now that I drive down to Lee County Mud Motorsports every month the trip down doesn't feel that long. I'm a big fat maybe as of now.

Just got the invite. Looks like it'll be a good turnout. I'll be there unless something comes up.

Thanks,
Guy with the "Purple" Ranger :D

Now that is good news. Hopefully we can make a run together this year

Between 480 and 500 depending which way i go. Either way it's a little over 8 hours. I just drove my ex to Nashville TN and back which is 900 miles, so I have the confindence in making it there and back, but i need to build my confindence on whooping it and making it back. I don't want to be a dead leg on the ride.

That's what it's all about brother. Gettin broke or stuck lol. I remember about 7 years ago just after JoshC ex was finished he brought it to Tellico and broke almost everything you could break and we spent 3 hours gettin' him to where he could drive his trailer to a camping area just to tow it out. He broke almost everything you can break in the front. It was eventful, but no one thought of him as a burden or anything. We all just joined together and took care of him and got him back safe and sound. We would do the same for you!!!

Were also bringing a 4wheeler out with us this year. Kelley wants to ride a little so she might be trailing the group one day lol

lol, thanks man. I have no problem whooping on it at home usually because this is mostly a toy for for me. Well hopefully by July I'll be locked in the back and on 31s maybe 33s we'll see. I'm going to talk to my fiance tonight about this trip before I say definate. I'll also have my 3 rugrats with me more than likely, but they love wheeling. My 3 year old keeps asking me to go "plop". ( he watched me put an old xj on its side a few months ago) lol.

I have to get my truck in running order first so I need the time. Rear drive shaft is destroyed and it wont start lol

Arrowhead Campground, site 14 booked for Friday and Saturday night. We'll be there, with or without an Explorer, though I fully expect to be breaking in my new towing capability (i.e. new engine) as I'll be towing the camper up there, and bringing the family. We'll drive up Friday, and could probably get there early. I'll ride with someone either Friday or Saturday, and then will have to spend some time with the family since I'm dragging them out there. ;)

EDIT: and whatever TJ's, YJ's, XJ's, SJ's, and buggies i can round up haha

Didn't you have starting issues last year? I remember a picture of Tripp under the hood...

AND HERE IT IS!!!

I had to!

I actually found out what was causing that. It was not a relay of any kind or any problem with the starter. It was an random wiring problem. Where I have a manual swap I hot-wired the transmission loom to trick the computer that the transmission is in neutral and in park at the same time. This allowing the starting to happen because its in park and the 4lo to work. Part.....well all three wires that made this function happen were really not holding together and was allowing it to start every now and then and at times just not do anything.

Wife: "So, who is going to be out there camping?"
Me: "Bunch of guys from the forum."
Wife: "You are NOT taking your new engine off-roading!"
