You can change the filter without changing the oil, you just have to add a quart of new oil when you put the new filter on.

If all you want to do is change the filter, just unscrew it and put a new one on, you do not need to drain the oil to change a filter.

I'm on the continuous oil change program. I have to add a quart every 3-4 weeks, so I don't really worry about it. I should probably change the filter though .

Just a sidenote to Glacier. It is nice that you change your underwear every day. But I think that was a little more info than was needed.

Well the oil is rated to 25k miles, and the filter only to 3k miles. The filter would need to be changed before the oil...

Well, since my brother (FordLover61) does my oil changes for me, I guess he uses the same in my truck as his, I just give him the money to cover the cost of the filter and oil
