Has anyone put an air tank tucked in where the spare tire used to be? On my '97 XLT it looks like there would be enough room for one. Getting a puncture would suck, but I like my open cargo area too.:navajo:

Thats one of the best places to put it. If you are worried about puncturing the tank, build a skid plate for it!

Does anyone have pictures of where they mounted their tanks? (Especially if mounted where the spare tire was :) )

Go with your ideas and post some pics :D Be original

Here is my setup. Got the tank form a Tractor Trailer supply place. Might be about 10# or so. Its held in place with that metal strap stuff with all the holes in it. Plumbers wire or something like that. I removed the old spare tire mounting stuff, and have a 3" body lift. I think its safe up there. At some point i'm gonna add another tank of the same size.

Whats Volvo, the pump?

It came from a Scout up at Harry's. First one I looked in and it was even the big York, I was pleased. I got the serp clutch off ebay, damn those things are expensive. One of the best mods I ever made, that is until I have the SAS done.

Oh wow didnt know the Yorks were on Scouts too :D Definitely a rare find

Yeah I was kinda suprised by the find too, it was a factory bracket so I guess its stock on some of them at least.

So who needs some air?

What type of compressor did you use and where did you mount it? I just bought a first generation ARB 12V, Preslite switched, compressor out of Australia. It's small enough that I could mount it almost anywhere, but I don't want it getting trashed. Maybe inside the cab?:navajo:

Has anyone mounted a 12V compressor inside the cab? Mine puts out 115psi...are there any concerns about heat/ventilation?
