Was getting the P0174. Checked out the IAC and that seemed to be functioning and not sticking. Cleared the code and unplugged the MAF. Ran choppy and leveled out and after a few minutes i pulled codes P0113 for Air Temp and P0102 for MAF circuit low input which is obvious. Ran for 1/2 hr in driveway and where I would have long pulled the P0174 I didn't. I eventually did pull a P2197. I my MAF shot? I did try cleaning it with an MAF spray cleaner a week back and haven't driven it. The P0174 and the P2197 are both for lean readings except the 2197 is caught by the O2 sensor. Don't want to drop $120 for a new MAF if that isn't going fix codes.
2003 4.0 SOHC sport trac with 110k miles.
Thanks

P2197 would lead me to believe that you have a bad O2 #21 (drivers side before the cat.) If it were a bad mass air you would be having issues on both banks, not just one. When you get a O2 indicates lean code is almost always a bad O2.

check your EGR valve....That was my problem. I have discovered that to save money you really have to test alot. So... take some carb cleaner and spray anywhere that a tube enters your engine and listen for any sort of reving. if it revs at that place, you have a leak and that will pull the lean bank codes usually. So then change the part and fix the leak.

The notoriously failing PCV elbow usually throws p0171 and p0174 codes.
Very common issue with certain 4.0 SOHC's and ALL Gen 1 Sport Tracs.
Easy to remove the throttle body cover and check the hose under side. GL

EDIT- Very common issue with certain 4.0 SOHC's and ALL JOB 2 Sport Tracs.

Not the Job 1's. Those have specific other issues with imploding vac lines from the pcv t that pinch themselves off and cause the same codes.

To be clear, this arrangement is NOT on Job 1 builds of the 2001 year models.
Oops! Thank you, it's even captioned above the first link picture. :(
