P0455 code

03 4.0 check engine light just came on--read the generic code as P0455--EVAP Emission Control System Leak (Large)--anyone got a clue what to look for here?

Check for a loose or improperly sealing fuel cap first. From there, inspect all the hose connections on the fuel tank and EVAP canister.

EVAP codes can be a pain to diagnose sometimes...Lots of shops have machines that will pump UV-dyed smoke thru the EVAP system and help detect leaks.

I got the same error a few weeks ago...I put a new gas cap on and and cleared the code...That worked but now I got another code and another problem with the fuel tank system. but I will put that in a seprate thread.

Try to change that cap
