i got these rims, best pici could find.
but the clear coat that was originally on them is pealing and looks like crap.
how would striping em, and painting em gloss black, or even flat blak, look???
thanks!

I think it would look really cool, I am in the middle of restoring mine at the moment, I have done the spare- steel wheel, finished that today, it was rusty as hell, has to blast it and fill it and then flat it and just gave it two coats of silver on each side- I will clear coat it in 24 hours. I then start on my alloys, standard Explorer limited ones, like yours the clear is really rough! I will take that off and restore the alloy and I fancy doing them black gloss also-Go for it mate, will look great after the silver bottom on your truck!

I would have the faces powdercoated-
you can find a local powdercoater if you look for them, have them blast them clean and coat the faces only, since they are aluminum this will work fine. It should cost about 100 for the set, but it will hold up.
Painting will work,I guess, but I would stay away from a flat texture. It will never clean up well IMO.
