Its been a long standing thing but I've decided to go and try to fix it. Every time I try to lock or unlock my truck all the other locks work but the front passenger lock just hisses like a bad pneumatic. Unfortunately I've never delt with one of these, anyone had to fix one, can I do it without pulling the whole door apart?

Also at times the door will stick and someone will have to pull from the outside where I have to pull the inside handle and push the door, would silicone spray help fix this?

The electric lock uses a caged system with 3 or 4 steel balls that twist the lock rod. If any of those balls falls out, the motor spins and makes that hydraulic motor sound. You gotta take off the door panel and repair or replace the lock motor. If your rubber boot has not ruptured, you will have all the balls in the boot, and all you have to do is reassemble the cage with the balls in place, replace the e clip and reset the boot. The other doors have the same kind of lock motor, so you could swap with one of them to put a good one in the driver door.

This sounds a lot like what I went through. The motor that Macgiobuin mentioned was actually broken and would not unlock the door and had to be replaced. I had problems replcing it myself so I took it to a trust worthy mechanic. It was worth the $ to have them do it.
