Question .Is it possible to reprogram a PCM remotely ie out of the vehicle . Just for argument sake if I bought a PCM from the US would I be able to reprogram for performance and also the shift for the tranny then add the PCM to my vehicle here in Australia ? I ask because no one I know out here knows how to do it or even if it is possible Cheers Foxy

Why not use an XCal2/3 and a computer tune from an SCT dealer? or Program it yourself via the SCT Pro Racer package with Advantage III software?

How much was that Al, over the basic flasher cost? Did that include a wide band O2 sensor, and you need a lap top right?

Barry, the PCM and PATS module(and keys) are a married set. You don't really do any swapping of those parts. If you have to, then you have to have the new parts matched to the others with a special Ford diagnostic tool(dealer).

See what James will do for you there, the programming by email, or what Al suggested. Regards,

The Racer Pro Package includes SCT's tuning software, Advantage III. However. it only one to tune one computer code. It does not include an O2 sensor. Yes, to tune with it you need a laptop.

Thanks, at a quick guess that sounds like it would be no big difference in cost versus doing it with a tuning specialist. I understand that that would be great if you make many changes, ongoing from time to time. My work truck I'm getting close to being done with upgrades, so one tune will do for it.

Barry you might do better to see if James will work with you to get you a nice tune. Have you done just about everything that you wanted to? I think that you have, from what you have mentioned before. Regards,

Hi Don & Aldive, thanks for replying, I have been in touch with James and at this time he recommends a under drive pulley .as he says I have just about done all I can do but as you guys know ther's no limit depending how deep one's pocket is . I'm not entirely sure of the advantages of the under drive but James is strong on recommending it and I feel after I've done that I believe he will guide me the rest of the way .I do have a laptop so that's the first step lol Cheers guys and thank you because that's what I'll do the "under drive" and then the rest ie tune Barry

That sounds good. I just bought a ported stock 4.6 Mustang throttle body, that should get me very close also.

BTW, spend plenty of time researching the process of pulling the old pulley/balancer, it is not fun. Night,

Thanks Don ,Mate like I really needed to know that I remember when Jakee was doing his engine you guys talked quite a bit about the pulley so I'll dig Glad you got your TB let me know if you have trouble with the cruise control because going up hill my girl won't drop down a gear but cuts out cruise control altogether then I have to reset .Aldive, mate I'll go with the under pulley but it will take time to arrange especially this time of year and to Australia Cheers Barry btw ,Don. when it is 6.00AM here on say Thursday it is about 3.00PM Wednesday over there in Michigan

Good to hear, I guess I should try to figure out why my cruise control hasn't worked since about March. The TB should be here in two days, I still need to do the trans work though. Weather, send some of that global warming here. LOL,

What GW ?? It's summer time out here or hasn't anyone noticed, beautiful one day perfect the next, Don, let me know how you go with the cruise control because I'm wandering if the length of the cable from the module to the TB has any thing to do with it ???and a big thank you for doing what you did for me Cheers Barry
