has any one else had this problem ?

the steering extension is causing an upward rise in the column itself and that causes a bind steering ( easy then a little harder etc ) I am afraid this will eventually cause some damage.

I called the company and spoke to a rep there - she faxed me the following...

1. locate mounting flange for steering column under dash.

2. unbolt flange from the firewall.

3. drill out holes in the flange toward the top as far as possible ( she said to make it an oblong shape )

4. pull ( or push ) the column down as far as possible.

5. reinstall bolts and tighten.

I have read here that some folks are grinding thier parts to fit but I cannot do that.

has anyone ever used this particular method above to fix the bind ?

also the bumper bracket they sent is incompatible with the stock ( OEM ) mounting bolts on the truck - it seems the drilled holes are just a centimeter or so to close together so when you push the bolts through thier bracket they beging to split or widen apart making it impossible to mount the new stuff.

thanks,

doug

Are you saying the extension is not used at all with this mod? or it just results in less binding with the extenson installed?
