I want to install an audio interface line where I can plug-in audio from my XM radio directly to the radio's audio system. I have a 2014 Police Explorer. Who makes the cable? Also, I want to up-grade the alternator to the 250 amp model. Will that directly mount to my present vehicle? Also, the Ford dealer stated that my present alternator number is: 10346C. When I removed it the tag on it stated it was a 10300CA. Are they the same? Why the different numbers. My present alternator is supposed to be a 220 amp. I want to increase the poor and unsafe faulty projection lamp lighting to a high-powered auxiliary driving-light system. Can I up grade to 250 amp alternator now used in the new police Explorers?

I'm assuming that's a third-party XM radio, not the one built into the FPIU, right? If so, check with Dale at Nenno Products (found via google search). I know Dale has sources for the Aux In cables that fit the OEM faceplate.

Can't help you with the alternator, way beyond me. :)

I have need to replace the alternator in my Ford Police Explorer. It had a 220 Amp alternator. If I am replacing it I felt I would increase the amperage, as the newer police units have the 250 Amp. I attempted to get a rebuild kit for the 220 amp alternator. I find the 220 and 250 amp units are made my Mitsubishi. They refuse to sell parts to make a rebuild kit. The 250 amp alternator has the same bolt pattern and plug as the 220 amp. It will strap-on the same and are interchangeable. Don't waste your time searching for a rebuild kit. Just upfit your vehicle with the 250 amp alternator. I got mine from e-bay for $70.00. It had 70,000 Mi. on it.
