Power Liftgate

HELP!!!! I have a 2016 Ford Explorer XLT. When I let my liftgate up it immediately slams shut. Have anybody else had this problem or may know what’s going on?

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "When I let my liftgate up it immediately slams shut"?

Do you have a power, or manual liftgate? If manual, I'd guess that both your strut supports (AKA Lift Supports) are worn out. There is a seal and high pressure gas inside and once the seal leaks, they lose lift strength. If a power liftgate, I suppose it's still possible that the right side strut has worn out and the left motorized strut, is not powerful enough to keep it up.

If you have a power liftgate then it could be that the motor (actuator) is not working. Liftgate for 2016 Ford Explorer | Levittown Ford Parts
If you don't have the powered 'gate' then it could be the support struts that are the issue.
