OK, to start i know somebody is going to say just search, but i have been searching and can't find the information that I know is here somewhere.
I have decided to put a 6" (or so) lift on my '91 explorer, I am planning on doing a SOA on the rear and just need to decide on what the best bang for the buck is on the front. I am leaning toward Skyjacker because I read somewhere that they have stronger brackets, is this correct. I would like to get a lift with the longer radius arms, and the 2 that I am trying to compare is the super lift and the Sky jacker.
Also, does anyone know of a way to purchase just the front portion of the lift so I don't have to pay for the rear which I will not need.

Any info you can send me would be great, I would like to get a lift ordered in the next week or so.

Thanks,

SKYJACKER over SUPERLIFT all day long for this 6" lift

James Duff has a nice new kit, but no 6"

Thanks, I remember reading somewhere that the skyjacker was superior, but not sure why.

Strength and fitment, also softer springs and better peformance IMO

Of all the drop bracket kits the Skyjacker is the strongest and best tuned option IMO
But I dont like drop brackets :) LOL

Cool, Now I notice that SkyJacker has a different part number for the Bronco II and the Ranger, any idea what the difference is and if one will fit on the Explorer better than the other?

the front lifts are the same, the Ranger kit will fit the Explorer, I am not sure what the differences are, I have a Ranger Skyjacker extended radius arms and the trans x member on my 88 BII, along with Skyjacker 6" coils....they fit the BII, Ranger and Explorer

Thanks, i was just looking at your Bronco, I have one I was thinking about building, but one thing at a time. I guess I am going to have to call around and see what I can find for prices on this lift now.

before you purchase you should consider all your options :)
I have a hodge podge of lift parts on my truck that make up my lift, with home built modified beams. My truck was a learning curve for me going from one setup to another... if I had to do it over again I would skip all drop bracket kits right from the start.... save, and buy the AutoFab D44 TTB kit :) LOL its not for everyone though and it cost more then many trucks are worth!!!

What I am getting at is Skyjacker, Superlift and Duff are not your only options, it all depends on what your goal is with this truck.

I am happy with my Skyjacker parts, big time, and so are many many others over the years

I have Duff 2" drop brackets, with Skyjacker 6" coils and radius arms, modified slightly. I have a Superlift Superrunner steering kit I recently rebuilt, and Superlift brake lines and drop pitman arm.. all of this bolted to my custom beams, it works FANTASTIC :) But I am done with bushings and coils........going to heims and coilovers, I need more wheel travel!
