Anyone here have any experience with the Pro Comp X-Terrain? If so can you tell me a but about them, like how their wear, traction in snow, mud, fry pavment, etc is. And also how their ride is.

Thanks, Derek

Basically everything from wear, traction, etc is between an AT and MT. On the street they're more "nice" like ATs, and offroad they're more "mean" like MTs. Wear should be 40-50k miles, I believe they have a 50k mile warranty.

Ride depends more on tire size and inflation in the case of these tires.

Don't know about the 50K warranty. I think that is only for the Pro Comp All Terrain. I could be completely wrong, but a tire with that aggressive a tread won't last 50K.

i have them 31x10.50's i love them dont know about 50 k but a all around awesome tire ..

The 50k warranty is for the ATs only. I think I have decided on the XTs. They are reportedly quieter than the ProComp MTs that I am currently running. I know I will likely get good wear out of them. I am very diligent about rotating my tires and I got almost 45k out of my MTs, would have been more but I let an alignment problem go for too long.

I run the Xterrains and loooove them, although they sort of have a mind of there own offroad, they go where they want, but on the plus side they make it where they want to go.

Could just be the size of tire I have and how far they stick out, but they are quite loud on the pavement, but I love that sound anyways so it doesnt bother me, at slow speeds they are quite bumpy. Air them down on the trail though and they feel like big pillows on the rocks. mine seem to be wearing fine, I also like how they are siped(sp?) they are much more reliable in rain and snow then the BFG MT's for instance

balancing was no problem with these tires.

Also as an added bonus they look reeeeeally cool.

Loud in comparison to a mud tire? All-terrain? Swamper?

the noise is pretty similar to a mud terrain, Its not worse than some MTs but its not much better.

Wow, this was an old thread.

For my area, I like the BFG MT or Goodyear MTR much better than my X-Terrains.

They are louder than my BFG MTs were on the street and I also think they don't perform as well as the BFGs for the terrain that I have around here.

exactly what froader said they are a bit louder than the MT's, I have never run a swamper, but would assume the Xterrains are quieter than that.

I would say the Xterrain is great on rocks and trails, but lacks a bit in the mud.

I'm on my 3rd set of Xterrains. I love them. They are great in everything except mud. They dont' shed mud very well.

I thought my procomps were/are quieter at higher speeds than the BFG's muds. (65-70mph)

Highway speeds with my Pro-Comp MTs are not too bad. The problem I was having was at 30-35 mph I was getting a resonance. How are the XT's at lower speeds?

i get that resonance from about 1-30km/hr. But I don't buy my off road tires for comfort :P

The only reason that I ask is that my wife made a request for quieter tires (happy wife = good). I agree with you. If I wanted on road comfort I would be looking at ATs.

Now that you say that, the resonance was around 30-35mph. Its been awhile since I've had the BFG's.

I can feel them at really low speeds (parking lot speeds) but cant hear them. Once you hit around 15mph the rumble feeling goes away.

I get around 35k to 45k miles. I really tear mine up on the trails so its usually due to trail rash than wear that I replace my tires. Yes I rotate regularly, tires are to expensive not to. My only complaint would be how they perform in mud.
