I ran across the other day that 2008-2010 power stroke ford pickups use a c3 ps pump similar to the 4.0/5.0 explorers, but with slightly higher pressure and more flow. According to cardone, at idle the PSD pump outs out 1.4-1.6 gpm idle, 1675 max psi and 1875 psi relief pressure. The 4.0 pump is 1.15 gpm at idle and relief pressure is 1300-1480 psi as per the ford manual. The only physical difference I can see is it doesn't have the 3 bolt pulley hub pressed on and slightly different supply hose elbow angle. Attached are some pics of the two pumps. I might try this but I'm not sure if that's too much pressure for the rack and pinion.

I did, trying to sort through some other steering issues first and gotta see about getting a junkyard pump to rob the pulley hub from

Bending the line to fit the new pump outlet could be interesting! It sure looks like the same pump
Maybe the numbers were just updated not sure if there are any actual benefits internally

Also pressure has never been a problem for the factory 5.0
Metal pump they are stout and last a good long time

It's got different internals to run the bigger box and hydrboost on the diesels. Several bronco guys that swap in drivetrains from 2nd gens use the stock pumps and had been using guts from a 6.0 psd pump ( different mounts) which should basically be the same as this. I believe some of the inlets unscrew. I think my steering problem is elsewhere after talking with you.

I was thinking he may have two lines switched at the rack… the 95-02 trucks the two lines use similar thread and fittings

What's it doing please explain?

I think it's right. They use the clamp on fittings. Gonna pull the steering shaft and soak it in kroil.

I have a stage rally zx3 with a Howe quickener 1.5 to 1. Looking for suggestions on how to increase the line pressure on the pump. I'm also running a/n line so pretty open on switching on differe t pumps, this needs to bolt to a 2.5 d tec. Currently running a 06 style p.s. pump. Thoughts

Got a pic of the current pump?

Pretty sure the duratec runs same bolt pattern as a modular 5.4 and 4.6. I'd look at a mustang gt pump because it also runs hydroboost so probably flows more.

I think the 6.0 psd runs the same pattern pump as well.
