Sorry to keep you all waiting.. I didn't realize it was a big secret.
I have my rock sliders almost done, and my rear bumper with tire carrier about half done.
I just didn't have time to do a front grille guard too, and I couldn't beat the price.
It's nice and sturdy, and yes, I'm also fabbing up a skid plate to go with it.
Lame... well that's a matter of opinion... I don't know about you, but I do all my own work and plenty of work for others, so forgive me for actually buying something.
I also got some taillight guards.
Cheers

Great looking truck! I believe I have the same grill guard you have, does yours shake over bumpy roads? It only mounts underneath with no other bracing. Just curious..

Looks good Ben

and the spacers dont compress anything.... they do limit susp travel because your "spacing" the strut lower extending everything downward

I does shake a bit, I'm cutting a few plates to double up the steel down where it mounts to the frame, and I'm also going to try to stiffen up the upper section up, I'll post some pics when I'm done.

Cheers

RB,
What would it take to install your spacers?
It wouldn't be me installing them, I would need to bring them to someone who had a clue about working on cars. I am half dumb when it comes to them. Is there a How-to on installing them anywhere on here?

Here's a quote from the first page of my thread.

Support lower control arm with floor jack.

Disconnect sway bar, both sides.

Disconnect Upper Contol Arm (ball joint)

Disconnect Tie Rods (be careful not to hurt the castle nuts).

Disconnect upper bolts of strut assembly (Three bolts)

Disconnect lower strut assembly bolt. Let assembly hang.
(you may lower the floor jack)

Install spacer (It's true that you will need to install the new upper bolts before tighten down the spacer to the strut assemby).

Install the spacer end.

With the lower control arm hanging, install the lower bolt of the strut assembly (there may be some binding).

Raise lower control arm with floor jack (I used a spring compressor on one side and not on the other. Either is possible. If you go with no spring compressor, be prepared to use a lever to pull down the upper control arm enough to get the upper ball joint bolt started).

Re-connect tie rod ends.

Re-connect sway bar.

Thanks, I noticed that but it is like reading Latin to me. haha.

I didn't know if you had a detailed How-To or anything.

Thanks for the quick reply. I appreciate it!

eather way they are not good at 3'' few other people with 3'' spacers have had problems spacers are a idea if you want to look like your truck can go off road

i would say get the 2'' and some beffy tires and then have you whife take it to the Grocery store

question: if you want a tough off road machine, what made you decide on buying a third gen Explorer??? Or did you already have it and wanted to customize it?

customize every thing - only one around -
i hate seeing every toyota or ranger i want to see explorers done up

I definetly could use a skid plate. That would be so great!!! Let me know when it is finished or a pic or something.

Yep, selling this one and getting a new one....either a newer 3rd Gen or a 4th Gen. It is almost back to stock as we speak...just have the body lift and a few aesthetic things to remove and it's getting sold.

Well I have new bumper to put on and control arms and a few other parts then again i only have 42000 miles lol still have 3 year warranty lol ya.

My truck is at 135k so I figured I will sell it while it's still worth something and while it's running great and has a lot of new parts to accommodate the mileage. I love my truck, just want a newer one with less miles.

I won't be lifting the next one however, which is why I'm selling all of my lifted stuff.
