Quick question, aging front power windows, making the Rrrr Rrrr Rrrr sound during operation and getting a bit sluggish...do they need a repair kit, I think bushings or gears or something, Dorman kit possibly?
Edit: lubrication is good already, grease in tracks and silicone in frame.

have a feeking this isnt it but thise rubber pieces just under the window that it rubs against on the outside that got so crumby and dirty from froading so that it made it slower. probably not it though.
 












How about the scissor and lift slides? Are they sticking?

You could try making new run channels with the universal ford run channel strip stuff. Replacement oem channels are about $50 a pop but the only ones I can find are used. You may have luck with graphite lube. Or upgrade your window motors.
 






Happened to me years ago, there are 3 cilindrical bushings that deteriorate and there was the grinding noise in my case. I replaced them with the dorman kit but it lasted like 1 year and something. Then I saw post on internet a guy suggested replacing the bushings with 3 1/4-20 nuts or ball bearings of the same size, JB welded them and it's been working perfect since then. For this you have to remove the motor. It's bolted to the door inner panel with 3 nuts, 2 are visible, the third is hidden and you have to drill a hole in the panel to access to it. There should be a video on YouTube. Good luck!

I used 5/16 ball bearings on all 4 of my 94's windows. No gluing needed. It's a very simple job and my windows have been working again for 4 years now.

The three plastic pucks inside the motor gear drive are suppose to be the weak link, so the motor never gets hurt. You should virtually never ever replace the window motors, they should last the life of the vehicle. I have replaced one from among about eight Fords I've owned with those, and that one had a bent(loose) gear drive shaft.

Those three plastic pucks are hard to install, they are a very tight fit. But they should last another 10-15 years in most vehicles. It takes about ten minutes to pull the door panel and the window motor. Cleaning and installing those pucks will take a good ten minutes or so depending on your patience. Fill the gear space about half full of grease, leave some air inside there, notice how much there is when you open it.
