Hey, silly question but...

you know how you can pull back on the lamp control, and it keeps your fogs/low and high on? and when pushing forward, your fog/low turn off and just your high is on?, would it be safe to rewire the switch so that those are reversed? (IE. push forward and everything is on all the time, and pull back and only high is on?)

main concern is if this is going to melt my wiring/burn out the bulb if it is on for long enough, the only reason im thinking about this is when lowbeam are on lighting sucks, and when highbeams are on it sucks, but when both are on its PERFECT. you can see everything for a remarkable distance.

does this make sense to anyone?

HRmm, that does help with one part thx :P, but maybe i should reword question, is it safe to have your high and low beams on at the same time for long periods of time? (i'm assuming this is what is happening when you pull back on switch)

thx :P

Dont read/answer so ####ing fast. Takes me time to get all the stuff up.:D

:P, perfect, those two fix the "problem"

just one last question, when i hold back the switch, is it keeping hi and low on at same time? and will holding it on for long periods of time damage the wiring/bulb?

Don't know for sure, but would Ford allow this capability if there was a chance of damage/fire? Probably not is my guess, because if it did, someone would have reported this as a possible recall by now.

On my wife's '06 X, the fogs turn off when pulling the flash to pass hi-beam. Very annoying, because all filaments shut off for a second and then just the hi-beam filament was coming on without the fogs and filament warmup time was slow, so there's a moment where you're driving without any light.
Solved with an HID upgrade kit though. :)

yea that is true dave, thx for posts everyone

Weakest part in the lighting system seems to be the MultiFunction Switch (Turn signal, flash-to-pass stalk). If anything is going to go it would seem its that.

The multi-function switch is fortunately all low power, so that is unaffected. The extra current and heat will be in the headlight assembly, so just watch those carefully.
