The horn sounds if the system fails to start,
unless quiet start is on. Quiet start runs the
blower fan at a slower speed to reduce
noise. You can switch it on or off in the
information display. See General
Information (page 100).
There is nothing in the General Information that refers to "Quiet Start".
In fact the only place that phrase is mentioned in the 2016 Manual is in the above excerpt. I even tried searching the words "quiet" and "start" and came up empty in regards to that feature.
Quiet Start runs the fan on a slower speed to reduce noise? What noise?....fan blower noise? If your remote starting your likely not sitting in the vehicle so who is hearing that blower?
But remote start activation from the Ford OEM cell-phone App honks the horn when starting....WTF?
The passenger gets out when you're sitting in the vehicle with remote in your hand and the horn honks X2 WTF?
I'll go along with that although the double honk did warn me the other day. Pulled into a spot outside a store and hit the start/stop button. The radio went off, I got out, closed the door and got the double honk. Turns out the car wasn't OFF after all.
