if you are a novice at it, i would strongly recommend not doing it yourself, and getting a shop to do it. there are tons of spot welds that need to be drilled out, and rewedded in. also, if you do put it in, and do not have it lined up properly, you can throw the alignment out of your hood, and fenders.

I have done a few hundred of them my self. All different cars, but maybe five or ten explorers.

Zoom is pretty much right. There are a LOT of steps involved. If you really really want I can walk you through replacing the radiator support, but I also would strongly discourage it. It took me till my fifth or sixth one to really get the hand of it.

then gentlemen what do you recomend for some one strapped for cash but needing a vehicale? the problem is i can get the part but have no real experiance, and the sapport is realy getting bad

SUPPORT.

What is the problem ? Were you in an accident? Rust ? What is preventing you from driving the vehicle daily ?

yes its rust. it's so bad i have pieces falling off whike tring to work on the steerin shaft.

Try spell checking before you post. Makes it less painful to read.

I will be honest with you guy. Your ability to spell even the simplest of words makes me apprehensive about encouraging you to grab some power tools and an arc welder.

I think bungee cords and duct tape might be a good remedy.

Well I may not be the best speller in. The world momix but guys like you, give this forum a bad rep. As for my mechanic skills I happen to have a degree to work on tanks from the us army, its just the body work, and to the one who suggested that I take it to a body shop love to but its not on the road

If you have a degree to work on tanks this should not be too different. Its metal. If there is a section on a tank that is severely damaged what steps would you take to remedy that ?
Would you remove the damaged section either by cutting or unbolting ?
How would you attach the new section ? The opposite way of removal ?

I would imagine working on tanks is some pretty advanced stuff.
I would apply some of that knowledge or at least thought process to a core support replacement.

If you still feel it is out of your league you can get a roll back to take it to a near by body shop. Some body shops even offer free towing if you get a certain amount of work done.

Lastly I highly doubt this site has a bad rep. If it does I dont think I am the reason why.

dude, dont get in a pissing match with this guy. he knows way more then you think. i will also add, i guy like him will never give this forum a bad rep. he will tell it like he see's it.

Here goes, ya you are whoreible at spelling. Core support, just make sure you mark where it connects to where and align it correctly. If you can't weld then you can always drill and mount it by bolts.

Ummmm you spelled horrible wrong.

Mounting a core support with bolts is as good as attaching your brakes with duct tape.

All the answers have already been given. I'm closing this thread. We don't need a pissing match about spelling.
