Hello everyone. Great forum you have here. I had the strangest thing just occur to me. The radio display on my 2001 Mountaineer just went out. It has the single CD and cassette player on the dash and a CD changer in the console. I checked the fuse and it is good. Anybody have any ideas or run across the same issue? Help me if ya can please:us:

VERY common occurrence and well documented in our second generation Explorers. There are some fixes out there. Mine did the same on my '99. I planned on getting an aftermarket system anyhow, so it didn't affect me overall and my faulty OEM head unit sits in a box in the garage now. Search around the site and you may find the fix. I seem to recall it involves opening it up and soldering a few connections.

Welcome to the site. Best Explorer/Mounty resource anywhere.

welcome

Very easy fix, check out the sticky post.

Its a very common thing, as celly said, but you might not want to get into it, an aftermarket headunit, can make your stock speakers sound 10x better, and now you can get something name brand and decent for less than 100$

Yea, thanks for all your input, I think I am goin to get a new unit, Pioneer makes a great one that will still allow me to use my steering wheel controls.:salute:
