I have a 93 Eddie Bauer and my radio went out. I found a used radioat a junk yard that worked fine when they tested it there. It hooks up fine, the ports match perfectly. When I turn it on, the power is fine, but the audio is almost non-existant. At the highest setting, I barely hear anything, but I can make out some sound. Does anyone have an explanation on why this is happening, and is there a simple solution to this?

Thanks!

Sounds like it may be the factory amp. I would check that first......its located behind the right rear panel.

Hey,
Just did this yesterday with my 92, but with an aftermarket stereo. It must be the amp, your eddie should have one, it may be shot. Do you know if the truck you pulled it from have a subwoofer in the rear passenger side near the hatch, or does your truck? Just wondering if that could screw it up. Otherwise, to get at the Amp, I just removed all the phillips head screws from the back panel (4 I believe) and the seatbelt, and used a gentle pull to release the pushpins. The Amp is right underneath, if you have one.
