Ballpark: What am I looking at to pay to fix this out of pocket?
Since I have to do the exhaust as well, I'd like to finish it with dual tips like on the ST.

Can’t tell you on anything price wise but you cannot use the exhaust from the ST because the Timberline doesn’t have the exhaust cutouts that the ST has.

His post says he has an XLT. I'm not sure if that makes a difference .

It doesn’t but the picture he had was of a timberline.

Yeah the X pictured is a Timberline. Since the whole rear end has to be redone and I have to order a lower valence (bottom bumper cover trim) either way, I'd get the ST with the cutouts rather than the Timbeline without the cutouts. I'm assuming that you can swap out any X lower valence for any other (whether Timberline, ST, XLT, etc.)?

You should be able to directly swap it over

Why don't just get an ST. More power, quad exhaust etc...

Availability, price ... bank account. Have had my eye on a couple that are just outside my price range. And I don't mind the I-4. Would love the 400 hp on the ST and Platinum but I-4 has its advantages in mpg since this is mainly a family hauler.
