If you're talking about getting them to slide out of the diff, I used a piece of wood about 1.5" x 1.5" size and 12" or so long. Brace it up against that part where it gets wide right before it goes into the diff. Use a 2lb sledge or something like that to hit it outward towards the outside end of the axle...it'll pop out with a few hits.
