1999 Explorer XLT
Greetings all...I'm curious if anyone can give me a roundabout estimation of how much it will cost to replace the rear window on my 99' XLT. Just trying to get a range of what estimates I'll be getting on monday would be considered gauging, and what will be considered fair. Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

rear side windows or the rear hatch?

the rear hatch window? prices change all around the country but i paid 120 for mine here in Washington, the junk yard down the street wanted 200 for it.

I think the junkyard I goto is $32, if the hatch glass classifies as "Glass - Rear".

Ahh okay.. You could probably attempt that yourself if you can find it. Typically a you pick & pull yard would cost you around $40 or so, atleast that what it cost me when someone broke into mine. Its only 2 torx screws that holds it on.

DAMN! why did i have to pay so much, they wanted $200 at the truck yard where they have a bunch and $120 at the car yard. nothing close to 40...:thumbdwn:

Typically at a you pick & pull yard you'll pay less than half.. A salvage yard where they pull the part themselves prices them at the local market value. It varies from region to region.
