The remote for my immobiliser is beginning to play up so am about to change the battery, but before i take the old 1 out i want to check i'm doing it right before i get stuck.

Cant see in my manual anywhere about the correct method to change the barrery in the remote so i presume it's simple enough..

But... is it?
i dont wanna find i cant turn the immobiliser off once i've taken the old battery out...

so i need to do any re-programming to it once the new battery is in place?

I'm not taking it down to a dealer.... they wouldnt know what an Explorer was anyways...

Thanks in advance

:)

If you're just talking about the stock key fob remote, it's very easy. All you do is take a dime (or whatever skinny coin is handy or wide screwdriver) and pry the 2 halves apart. Then replace the batteries, put back together, and you're done! I never had to do any reprogramming with mine and I changed the batteries 3 times in each fob over 7 years.
