Hey all

I'm currently in the middle of my engine build and am in need of a little info. As I almost NEVER use my A/C, but appreciate my heat, I was wondering if anyone has removed the HVAC system under the hood out of the 2nd Gens? I'd like to completely remove the box mounted to the firewall, as well as the compressor, but am not sure if it's possible to do that and keep the heat.

I believe it was actually in '93 or '94 when they switched up the system to R-134a and when the A/C lines actually went over the motor and all that good stuff. I know the older way ('91-'93) you could just simply remove the A/C box and replace it with a non-A/C box from a Ranger and be done with it. But then again, I may not have any of that info correct..

Has anyone successfully done this one the 'newer' version on the 2nd Gen's? Does the 2nd Gen use the same heater motor and condenser? I don't think I've seen a 2nd Gen without A/C, though i know every auto store has the no A/C belt option...

Thanks,
-Brandon
