Hey guys I am ready to fix my 93 X 4x4 not working.

I was wondering. Can you still drive the vehicle without the transfer case motor and dampener on it?

Do I need to wrap the connectors for the wiring with electrical tape while the motor is off?

THanks,

Brett F

Yes you can drive it with the shift motor removed, and yes you should tape the wires off.

Thank you.

Finished in record time..... well for me anyway :)

This morning I went out at 7 am to get-r-done before it got too hot out and finished up by noon.

Well, I did take a break at 9 after getting the electric motor off the T-case for BASStech and Best Angler debate.

Then replaced the hard stop and cleaned up the armature and put it back in.

The test went really well and I wanted to say thanks to all the guys that posted previously on how to do this.

thanks again.

Brett

Oh and for me this was big. Carpentry I know but no where near a motor head. It just goes to show what you can do with the right information and some time.
