I have a 2007 Explorer with factory navigation. The navigation screen was hit and cracked. The unit still functions properly. Can the touchscreen be replaced or will I need a new unit?

new unit, unless you feel comfortable and can take apart this one and get another one and place it in. in this case you would have to find another broken one and just swap the screens.

if you decide to replace it, i would recommend going to an aftermarket unit. in te long run it will give better sound, and also have more flexibility.

Cracked screen?

How did you make out with your screen , I cracked mine the other day
waiting to see if dealer will cover it! just checking on my options.

I used the company in the link from the previous reply. They replaced just the glass, not the whole screen. It was $150 and it works fine.

check out the video I posted on the costal tech lock pick, It showes how to take the radio apart, pretty easy to replace screen.

Gave them a call today they only fix up to 08, still waiting on the dealer if i dont win im goining with a after market maybe kenwood something that has the same options.

Not that anyone seems to care but the dealer finally sent my unit out to a repair shop to see if it can be fixed after i told them that i contacted a laywer!

what was the name of that dealer?

$$$$$

All American Ford NJ, The repair shop wants $1000 to fix it dealers paying $250
my cost will be $750.
