Hi folks,
Just joined and am anxious to have some advice on a wee problem. I have an '04 Explorer XLT with a fractured mirror glass on the drivers side. The dealer sells replacement glass for a 3rd the cost of replacing the entire housing. It is the heated version and still on the truck.
Any advice on how to get the darn broken mirror off the housing with out taking the housing off the truck? Once off, how would one carefully install the new mirror without busting it? The dealer did not seem to have an answer other than to have one of their techs do it.
Any response will be cheerfully accepted.
