To start off I'll say that I don't normally promote any products unless they pay my bills and make my dinner for me... I'm not easily turned on to most products for one reason or another. BUT in this case I had to share my positive results.
I keep my 98 explorer in very clean condition since it was new, and it's always been kept waxed, so the paint still has a lot of life left in it. With that said I'll start my review.
I washed and clay barred the truck to remove some sort of overspray from all the upper surfaces. Then wiped it dry. Then I tried my new bottle of "Jeff's Werkstatt prime strong". The product is very light, almost watery. I put it on with a microfiber applicator and allow it to dry for 30 minutes. Wiping it off is very easy with a microfiber towel, sometimes spritzing a little water in areas. Then I sprayed the "Jeff's Werkstatt Acrylic Jet Trigger" as the actual sealer/gloss. I let it dry until it hazed evenly about 5 minutes. That stuff is harder to remove and required spritzing of water in most areas. This all occured about 6 months ago............- and today after it rained I still had an incredible bead of water over the entire truck. I use that companies car wash also- maybe it helps prevent removing their wax I don't know. BUT we've had months of extremely hot weather here, followed by downpoors of rain that normally wash away wax because its soft from the heat.
So today I did the process again but added one more step. After clay barring the truck I buffed it with "Poorboys SSR 2.5" using a rotary machine and then buffed it with 3M polishing glaze for dark paints using a black finishing pad. THEN I went ahead and did the Jeff's Werkstatt sealant again. And this time the results are stunning, even better than last time.
I can say that I've been complimented on the appearance of my truck at least once a week since using this stuff. People who don't even know me will ask why my older model truck has better paint than their brand new trucks! I just laugh because I know that their truck has much better paint, it just needs to be cared for (with any half way decent product).
Jeff's Werkstatt has a few other sealants too, I only tried this one. This is the one that has the extremely glossy wet finish to it. Some of the other products have a less glossy finish, or have a mixture of carnauba for those who refuse to change to new technology. This product (acryllic jet trigger) is almost too glossy because it will magnify any orange peel- so if you have a crappy paint job then don't bother using it without wet sanding first. It's fully synthetic and will not weaken from hot weather or rain. ALSO- one major major positive result I experienced while using it is this: sprinklers will not leave permanent water spots on my paint, even in direct sunlight! I've tried every top name sealant you could imagine and this is the first one to prevent water spots. They wipe right off when washing the truck.
