What did you have to do with the holes where the rack was? I was told they had to be painted over, shaved, sealed then painted... If so, did you do that yourself?
Thanks!
I'm being serious---
Go to the chevy dealer-
ask for a "Tahoe roof rack delete" kit-or rather 2 of them. It's about 25 bux total.
They are full length rubber strips.
You then use a "forstener" drill bit (look it up) to drill HALF WAY!!!! through the rubber strip, at the locations where the mounting posts are. Be careful, extra careful, not to drill all the way through. you want a square bottomed "counter sink"
Mounty's have mounting studs with holes which need to be fully covered, I am not sure what the explorer rack mounts are like, but i assume they are the same.
I used black RTV sealer in the holes, then layed the strip out along the rack line
I used a pencil to mark the stud locations, and using a 3/8" forstner bit, I drilled flat bottomed holes, without poking through. The rubber then sits down flush. test fit it several times before pulling the protective film from the tape. Once it's stuck, it is stuck.
best to do this on a cooler day. If it is hot, the rubber strip will stretch.
