The cool thing is I found a tire shop that only charged me the difference between what Ford is paying and the total cost. They are doing the recall paper work and waiting for the check. How cool is that. If you are ever in Corvallis or Albany Oregon stop in Begg's Tire, They treated me great!

I hope you enjoy!

windows??

Hi, it looks great but you gotta be kiddin me...you spent all that money on a lift and tires and dont even get your front 2 windows tinted? When I saw the pictures that was the first thing I noticed. If you find the right place it should cost you like $50! I got mine done for $30. Especially on a black explorer. Trust me if you tint those 2 front windows it will look sweet!!
Just a suggestion!
Grant

easy, there killer. tinted windows do nothing more than attract the attention of local law enforcement. spend 50 bucks on something useful instead, like taco bell

looks nice, but black rims? wont that be overdoing it? ok.. well to each his own hehe, at any rate, must be nice to get that tire swap, whe nI got my firestone rollover ATs replaced they told me to get the michelins or pay full price on some BFG ATs.. I wanted the BFGs too! very rude of them to change the rules like that..

Only black rims I know of are made by American Racing. I had a set and was not happy with them. If you do a lot of street driving keep you limited rims. Steel rims are hard to balance.

Looks great. Very tight and clean looking. Im with Grant on the tint. That was the first mod I made on mine. Black truck with black windows looks sharp.

save the cash for performance mods. tinting the windows is one of the last things i would do AND i own a black truck. blackouts are also kinda "corny" looking if you know what i mean. everyone has em. go for something original.

I have to agree with sphaugh. I have been stopped before with window tint, not fun. I was not doing any thing wrong, the cop stopped me just for the window tint. I would prefer that not happen again. It was most likely the only time I was doing the speed limit :-D

Fantasymon, it's not liftted YET. I will be very soon. The tires fit without a lift.

DarkFox1, bummer - I kept looking around till I found a place that would do it for me. It I took it to Ford they would have only replaced them with the oem replacements.

I found a set of rims from TSW that come in Black(gun metal gray). They are the Revos and they do make them for the Explorer. I was thinking of getting a set of regular aluminum rims and powder coating them black. Just a thought. You can see the Explorer on www.tire.com with a set of silver Revos. I think it looks good.

I am looking into taillight covers from Explorer Express, the raised bar kind. I am also going for a brush guard.

Does any one know where I might be able to get a metal air deflector?

Your truck looks killer. lol - I wish mine looked half that nice. I'd keep the rims you have now though, they look great. Were it mine, I'd go for a safari bar with some lights, a 3" body lift and whatever TT was needed to clear 33's. That would look awesome.

Not workin

Hey, the picz dont work.

Yeah, Photopoint wont allow direct linkes to images. Try following the links. My second post with pictures shows the X with the new wheels, brush guard, and lights.

Dead Link Removed

or you can just flip threw the rest of my pics on photopoint. I have the stock wheels back on it now. The new wheels are being stripped and powdercoated black. I am hoping it will look killer!

Correct me if im wrong, but weren't all rims before the late 80's All Steel? I would hope to think that a GOOD Tire shop can Balance ANY wheel, let alone a wheel that has been around since the "wheel" itself!

I know all about this I have 2001expsport's old wheels. The problem isn't the balancing of the wheels and tires its that on explorers for some reason the center hole on the back steel wheels dosent fit the center of the hub true and this is what causes the wobbling problem. If you have black wheels look at the gap around between the center of the drum in the back and notice that is not the same distance all the way around. Robbie

I've tried both links and cannot view the pics, what am I doing wrong?
